First, what is modesty? In www.lds.org, "Modesty is an attitude of propriety and decency in dress, grooming, language, and behavior."


I know we're on the new generation, there are many influence of the world like dressing immodest clothes and sometimes we are being deceived to wear those immodest clothes. So here's 5 reasons why you should start wearing modest clothes:





1. We are the Lord's Precious Daughters in His Kingdom- Written in the Young Women theme, "WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL "STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9)"



2. Our Body is a Temple of God- We must think always that we need to respect our body as well as we respect the Temple of God. And we must think also that the Temple of God is the House of the Lord.
“Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Cor. 6:19–20).
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (1 Cor. 3:16–17).


3.  We Represent our Religion "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"- As a member of our church "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints", we must be a good example to all people by doing and following the standards of our church. We must wear modest clothes everyday, every occasion, no excuses.
"Rise Up, and Follow the Footsteps of the Savior."


4. Modesty is the Real Fashion- Modesty is always in fashion. Don't be deceived by people who wear immodest dresses. Always think that you can be beautiful and fashionista if you choose to wear modest clothes.
"Be a woman of Christ. Cherish your esteemed place in the sight of God. He needs you. This Church needs you. The world needs you."

5. We Need to Have the Companionship of the Holy Ghost- When we wear immodest clothes, do you think the Holy Ghost is with us? Definitely NO. Holy Ghost comes to people who obey the commandments of the Lord and all the standards of the Church. When we want the Holy Ghost to be with us always, we should think that we need to obey with exactness to the Lord.
